Bubble trajectories of motion in a viscous fluid (Q750253)

Problems of biotechnology require an analysis of motion of gas bubbles when they are injected in a flow of a viscous fluid. This paper considers motion of a mixture of a viscous fluid and gas bubbles in the case when the effect of the bubbles on the fluid motion can be neglected. A simple mathematical model is suggested, which makes it possible to determine the bubble trajectories. As an example, the problem on Kuethe's flow is solved for the case when bubbles are injected from the lower immovable plate.
