A new approach to linear dynamic systems with companion matrices is proposed, based on parametric representation in a modified state space. The state-space vector is rearranged to yield two subvectors: generalized position and generalized velocity. This leads to a parametric differential form for dynamic trajectories with no time explicitly intervening. Time appears only as a parameter. The advantage of the parametric approach resides in a direct relationship between the dynamic trajectory of the system and its parameters.
