A degenerate parabolic system describing the fluid-solute-heat flow through unsaturated media is studied, but for homogeneous temperature. Unfortunately, the symbols used for the physical quantities are not so clear. The initial data are regularized, and the new problem has a classical solution [cf. \textit{Ziqian Yan}, Proc. Cent. Math. Anal. Aust. Natl. Univ. 10, 256-266 (1986; Zbl 0622.35031)]. The existence and regularity of weak solution are obtained. [For part II see the following review.]
