The author tries to provide a general framework for fuzzy arithmetic based on a kind of lattice. Seen this way, it is interesting to lay bare the meaning that the operations and the laws for the lattice fuzzy numbers are shown to be intrinsically determined by those for the underlying range and domain of lattice fuzzy numbers. In the paper, different operations are discussed and a lot of new results obtained.
