Given a controllable pair \((M,c^ T)\) the authors propose a procedure to find a vector \(\bar f\) and a transforming matrix L such that the closed loop matrix \(M-c^ T\bar f^ T\) is similar to a pre-assigned arbitrary non-derogatory matrix. ``As an eigenvalue assignment procedure, a theoretical operation count suggests that the method is more efficient than the best known existing ones for the problem.'' This paper is very interesting and well written.
