The authors consider several questions on spaces of nilpotent matrices. Some sufficient conditions for triangularizability and some examples of irreducible spaces are given. The authors give also a necessary and sufficient condition, in terms of the trace, for all linear combinations of a given set of operators to be nilpotent. In addition, the dimension of the space of nilpotents on \(F^ n\) is considered, where F is a field.
