Fixed points for contractive mappings of third order in pseudo- quasimetric spaces (Q756762)

A class of maps is defined called contractive of third order and a class of spaces being a generalization of metric spaces and it is proved a theorem answering when for each point \(x_ 0\in X\), the sequence \((x_ n)=(f^ nx_ 0)\) converges to a fixed point of f. Some relations between contractive maps of third order and maps of Banach type are established.
