This paper presents classical algorithms for constructing Hall and Lyndon bases of the free Lie \({\mathbb{Q}}\)-algebra and for computing Campbell- Hausdorff-like formulas. The author also gives effective Scratchpad implementations of these algorithms and compares their effective time complexity with Lisp programs.
