Summary: The notion of ``Tikhonov well-posedness'' for minimum problems for preorders is introduced. In case of total preorders represented by real- valued functions, the relationship between well-posedness for the preorder and for the function is investigated. A characterization, resembling the one given by \textit{M. Furi} and \textit{A. Vignoli} [J. Optimization Theory Appl. 5, 225-229 (1970; Zbl 0177.129)], is given for well-posed preorders.
