The authors propose a method of analysis of structures that uses finite elements to obtain load-deformation histories of elastic-plastic structure under cyclic loading. Input to the resulting computer program includes material parameters read from typical cyclic stress-strain curves. Several examples are given and correlation with experiment is good. Of interest to research engineers and designers.
