The author considers the problem of stabilizing an infinite-dimensional system by a finite-dimensional dynamic controller (compensator). The approach is to assume a singular perturbations formulation and to design a finite-dimensional controller for the reduced order model obtained when \(\epsilon =0\). Bounds on \(\epsilon\) for which this controller also stabilizes the infinite-dimensional system are given in terms of system parameters.
