An expansion method of \textit{S. K. Adhikary} and \textit{I. H. Sloan} [Nuclear Phys. A 241, 429 ff. (1975)] is used to find an energy-dependent finite rank approximation to the three-body scattering amplitude. Cubic spline functions are used to evaluate the expansion terms. Numerical results are obtained for a system of three identical bosons.
