The authors obtain two independent weak-coupling expansions for the Liouville quantum field theory on a circle using the exact operator solution found by \textit{E. Braaten, T. Curtright} and \textit{C. Thorn} in Phys. Lett. B 118, 115--120 (1982). It is shown that the free state space associated with one of these solutions must be restricted to the sector which is odd with respect to a type of parity. Some physical interpretations are also discussed.
