Irreducible tensors are classified and invariant tensors are constructed for the exceptional group \(E_ 6\). As an application Kronecker products of \(E_ 6\) irreducible representations are reduced and the Higgs potential associated with scalar fields transforming according to various irreducible representations of \(E_ 6\) (27,78,351,351') is explicitly constructed.
