\textit{B. Solomon}'s result from [J. Differ. Geom. 21, 151--162 (1985; Zbl 0589.58035)] is extended to \(p\)-harmonic maps for \(p\geq2\): Any \(p\)-harmonic map to \(S^n\) omitting a totally geodesic sphere of codimension \(2\) in \(S^n\) is of class \(C^1\).
