Summary: Bianchi types II, VIII, and IX string cosmological models are obtained and presented in a scalar-tensor theory of gravitation proposed by \textit{C. Brans} and \textit{R. H. Dicke} [Phys. Rev. (2) 124, 925--935 (1961; Zbl 0103.21402)] for \(\lambda + \rho = 0\). We also established the existence of only Bianchi type IX vacuum cosmological model for \(\lambda = \rho\), where \(\lambda\) and \(\rho\) are tension density and energy density of strings, respectively. Some physical and geometrical features of the models are also discussed.
