A bounded linear operator \(T\) acting on Banach space \(X\) satisfies property \((w)\) (resp., property \((b)\)) if the complement in the approximate point spectrum \(\sigma_a(T)\) of the essential approximate point spectrum \(\sigma_{ea}(T)\) is exactly the set of all isolated points which are eigenvalues of finite multiplicity (resp., the set of all Riesz points of \(T\)). The present paper explores how property (w) and property (b) survive for upper triangular operator matrices, using tools from local spectral theory.
