L'A. reprend les problèmes fondamentaux de la théorie de l'inforrnation, considérés par \textit{A. Ya. Khinchin} dans son travail bien-connu publié dans [Usp. Mat. Nauk 11, No. 1(68), 17--75 (1956; Zbl 0075.14202) (voir aussi la traduction allemande dans ``Arbeiten zur Informationstheorie. I'' (1957; Zbl 0083.14302)]. A cette occasion, l'A. simplifie quelques démonstrations de Khinchin et énonce dans une nouvelle forme le second théorème de Shannon.
