Carrying a conformal rescaling on intial data for the Einstein equations can provide initial data for Friedrich vacuum conformal equations [\textit{H. Friedrich}, Proc. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 375, 169--184 (1981; Zbl 0454.58017)]. This paper shows that it is possible to do so for type D solutions.
