Let \(K\) be a field, \(S=K[X_1,\dots,X_n], I\subsetneq S\) be a monomial ideal and \(L\) be the generalized mixed product ideal induced by \(I.\)The author studies first the unmixedness of \(L\) giving several situations in which this happens. The second task is to study the normality of \(L\) and he shows that \(L\) is normal if and only if \(I\) is normal.
