Over function fields with odd characteristic, the author studies the Siegel-Weil formula associated with classical groups. With this tool, he obtains new results involving the Siegel-Weil formula and also function fields, the theta integral, and Siegel Eisenstein series. The author shows that the Siegel Eisenstein series is equal to an integral of a theta function.
