This is essentially a paper on numerical analysis: The author illustrates a numerical method to study periodic solutions of nonlinear vibration systems. This method, which is a particular shooting method [see e. g. \textit{E. Fehlberg}, Computing 4, 93-106 (1969; Zbl 0185.413)] permits to produce periodic solutions with a shorter computer time. In the last part of the paper a numerical treatment of the stability of the periodic solutions and some examples are given.
