For torsionless axisymmetric displacements, simple and transparent completeness proofs or Boussinesq's and Love's general solutions of the displacement equations of equilibrium are given via the completeness of Marguerre's solution [\textit{K. Marguerre}, Z. Angew. Math. Mech. 35, 242- 263 (1955; Zbl 0065.397)], whose simple relationship to the former solutions is noted.
