The continuous Jacobi transform (Q789665)

Based on the works of \textit{L. Debnath} [Bull. Calcutta math. Soc. 55, 113-120 (1963; Zbl 0129.078) and ibid 59, 155-158 (1967; Zbl 0193.381)] on the discrete Jacobi transform and its applications to physical problems described by partial differential equations, especially, the problems of heat conduction in a finite domain with variable thermal conductivity, the present authors define the continuous Jacobi transform, which seems general in nature. As usual, they have discussed its basic properties and some special cases. Later, an inversion theorem is proved.
