A nonlinear field theory is studied for which the field variables range over a 3-sphere. This is a kink field theory of the Skyrme type. A number of integral formulae useful in computing topological invariants are listed. There is a discussion of rotation loops which is used together with Whitehead's integral formula and Thom's transverse regularity theory to explain how a double-valued spinor wavefunctional can be defined as a functional of the original single-valued field variables. An explicit example of such a wavefunctional is constructed.
