This paper considers static, spherically symmetric solutions to the Einstein equations with a viscous fluid source which is not necessarily at rest relative to the usual Schwarzschild coordinates. Thus the density, pressure and velocity depend on the radial coordinate so the mass distribution is not homogeneous. The resulting metric has the general features of an interior Schwarzschild one but with a true (curvature) singularity at the origin. The motivation for this study was to look for static cosmological metrics for which distant galaxies nevertheless would have relative Doppler shifts. However, the singularity at the origin and the large viscosity required make this particular model unrealistic.
