The authors give a new similarity-canonical form for stable matrices (i.e., matrices whose characteristic roots have, all, positive real parts) in the real and complex cases. They obtain new proofs for the real and complete cases of a Stein-Pfeffer theorem about stable and conjunctive matrices (i.e., matrices A and B such that \(B=C^*AC\) for some C non singular.
