The main result (Theorem 2.3) in the present paper asserts that every irreducible representation of a finite Coxeter group is afforded by a W- graph. In section 3, it is shown that there is an irreducible representation of the affine Weyl group of type \(A_ n\) (\(n\geq 2)\), which cannot be obtained from a W-graph.
