Some aspects of abstract harmonic analysis (Q792571)

This paper was presented at the first Eastern African symposium on pure and applied mathematics and mathematics education held at Nairobi University in June 1981. It is a survey of various recent results and open problems. The paper is very terse, it consists almost entirely of definitions and statements of results, problems, conjectures. Therefore, it is impossible to cite the results in a short review. The results are subdivided by the author into the following topics: function algebras, invariant means, measure algebras, and topology of foundation semigroups.
