Two-dimensional models of field theory invariant under conformal and global gauge groups respectively are considered. For these models there exist conserved quantities formed from higher-order polynomials in the currents and in the components of the energy-momentum tensor respectively. It is shown that these conserved quantities can be obtained through Noether theorems from local nonlinear gauge transformations or from nonlinear translation.
