This article is the last of a series of ten articles comprising a printed version of the author's Toronto doctorate of 1978, accompanied by a few small revisions. The nine earlier articles surveyed, in corrigible fashion, some aspects of Poisson's research in mechanics and mathematical physics; in this final one the author covers certain features of Poisson's career, showing the same eclectic and careless uses of secondary literature as earlier. The text concludes with a bibliography for the whole series of articles.
