In this paper the author, on the basis of Gyarmati's wave approach of the Onsagerian thermodynamics, derives new constitutive equations of Maxwell- Cattaneo type, which lead to an hyperbolic system of equations predicting the propagation of thermal-viscous signals at finite wave speed.
