The purpose of the present paper is to find a mini-theory of similarity. The basic notion is introduced and illustrated on three examples. The notions of so-called C-similarity and Q-similarity are studied in more detail. The main result of the paper is the demonstration that the procedure of extracting the basic inner language of quantum theory can be applied to more general structures.
