A characterization of linearly compact modules (Q793825)

The aim of this paper is to give a technique for building all left linearly compact modules over a (discrete) ring R. As an application of our results we give a new description of the finest topology in the equivalence class of a left linearly compact topology on a left R-module M. This enables us to solve some problems, concerning the behaviour of the finest topology with respect to products, posed by \textit{S. Warner} [in Math. Ann. 197, 29-43 (1972; Zbl 0233.16036)].
