The note gives two examples of \(C^{\infty}\)-mappings of an interval. In the first example the mapping f has attracting cycles of arbitrarily large periods. Earlier the first author constructed a \(C^ 0\)-mapping of this type. In the second example the mapping f has homtervals which do not contact with cycles. A homterval is an interval \(\Delta\) so that \(f^ n|_{\Delta}\) is a homeomorphism for any n.
