Monosplines of minimal \(L_ 1\)-norm (Q795249)

The author proves the uniqueness of the monospline least deviating from zero in the metric \(L_ 1\), in the set \(M^ N_{\rho r}(A,B)\) of monosplines, where A and B are subsets of the set \(D_ r=\{0,1,...,r- 1\}, \Gamma_ n=\{\gamma_ 1,...,\gamma_ n\}, 0\leq \gamma_ i\leq r- 1, \sum^{n}_{i=1}(\gamma_ i+1)\leq N,\) whereas \(\rho\) is the degree of the leading term in each of the considered monosplines.
