A number of recent papers have independently derived a sixth order partial differential equation, here referred to as the Onsager equation, for the countercurrent flow in a gas centrifuge [\textit{F. H. Bark} and \textit{T. H. Bark}, J. Fluid Mech. 78, 749-761 (1976; Zbl 0343.76025); \textit{J. Durivault} and \textit{P. Louvet}, C.R. Acad. Sci. Paris Ser. B 283, 79 ff. (1976); \textit{H. G. Wood} and \textit{J. B. Morton}, J. Fluid Mech. 101, 1-31 (1980; Zbl 0462.76071) and \textit{J. J. H. Brouwers}, J. Engin. Math. 12, 265-285 (1978; Zbl 0388.76101)]. In the following it is shown how the pressure continuity requirement can be applied within the context of the Onsager equation to solve for the unknown baffle stream function value.
