The question whether an \(\omega\)-matrix with positive leading principal minors is a \(\tau\)-matrix is answered negatively. For some conjectures on the localization of the eigenvalues of \(\omega\)- and \(\tau\)-matrices in the complex plane, some special cases are discussed. Also some further open questions are posed.
