In part III of this series [ibid. 43, 259-272 (1984; Zbl 0542.10039)] the author described all completely multiplicative functions f and g, for which \(\sum^{\infty}_{n=1}| g(n+K)-f(n)| n^{-1}\leq \infty (K=2\) or odd, fixed) holds. In the present paper, under some additional conditions on f and g, the problem is solved for all K.
