Recently, \textit{H. M. Strivastava} [Pac. J. Math. 85, 471-477 (1979; Zbl 0415.33006)] has given a generating function of a most general nature. In this paper, a so-called binomial analogue of Srivastava's result is obtained from that expression by replacing x by ux, multiplying both sides of the resulting equation by \(u^{b-1}e^{-u}\) and integrating with respect to u from 0 to \(\infty\). In conclusion, a number of interesting special cases of the main result are deduced.
