The author takes \(n+2\) points in the interval \(\ell\), and defines an infinite triangular array of modes X, with the help of these points \((n=0,1,...)\). The Lebesgue function of order \(n+1\) determined by X is defined using the fundamental Lagrange polynomials, and the Lebesgue constant of order \(n+1\), determined by X is then defined. Theorem 1 gives a bound on the Lebesgue constants generated by a certain class of rational functions.
