It is shown that when a current flows along a channel and there is a sufficiently rapid increase in the electrical conductivity with the temperature the steady current-voltage characteristic exhibits a section in which the voltage decreases with increasing current density. For perturbations that vary in time in accordance with the law exp \(\lambda\) t and fixed gas-dynamic parameters at the entrance to the channel, the existence of a countable set of eigenvalues \(\lambda\) is established.
