The problem of the expansion of a spherical region filled with a gas with high initial pressure is examined, in a continuous medium with dilatancy, by which is meant the kinematic connection between the velocities of the dilatational and the maximal tangential deformations. The change in the medium density behind the shock wave front takes place only due to this kinematic connection.
