''In this paper, a survey is given of the recent research which is related to a particular combinatorial principal namely the Ramsey theorem... It is the author's aim here to show a large variety of applications of the Ramsey theorem. It should be stressed that none of the classical and 'standard' applications is mentioned.'' The applications discussed are taken from several areas including: combinatorial games, number theory, Boolean functions, and the study of 'natural' orderings of the subsets of a totally ordered set.
