The author has studied the low-Reynolds number flow in the narrow gap between two unequal spheres close to each other. Lubrication approximations are used and asymptotic formulae for the forces and couples acting on the spheres are deduced. Three problems are studied. In the first two one of the spheres rotates about the axis perpendicular to the line of centres and in the third, the sphere rotates about the line of centres.
