This paper investigates analytically and numerically a mixed convection in a horizontal porous channel, assuming the free convection currents to be due to a horizontal temperature gradient. The analytical investigation is by a perturbation analysis and the numerical one by the finite- difference successive over-relaxation technique. The results of the two analyses have been compared adequately. A range has been determined in which free convection effects on the Nusselt number are negligible.
