Heat transfer in the thermal entrance region of blood flowing in a circular duct has been studied by the authors taking into consideration the possible presence of a thin cell-free plasma layer at the periphery of the ducts. The models proposed by \textit{Charm} and \textit{Kurland} [Nature, London 206, 617-619 (1965)] and \textit{Merrill} and \textit{Pelletier} [J. Appl. Physiol. 23, 179-182 (1967)] have been employed for this purpose. The energy equation is then solved numerically by finite- difference technique for a uniform wall temperature and the wall heat flux conditions. The results calculated on Vax 11/780 computer system are tabulated and represented by various graphs. Excellent agreement is found upon comparing to the existing numerical results.
