The author considers partial t-spreads and translation nets of order s and deficiency d satisfying \(s>(d-1)^ 2.\) It is proved that (almost) all such translation nets do in fact come from partial t-spreads. Further some open problems about the nets corresponding to maximal partial t- spreads are answered, and new examples of maximal partial t-spreads and unembeddable nets with \(s>(d-1)^ 2\) are constructed.
