The author describes a configuration of 19 points on the surface of a sphere for which the minimum angular distance between the pairs of points is larger than the one given (for 19 points) by \textit{M. Goldberg} [Elem. Math. 22, 108-110 (1967; Zbl 0161.417)]. The general problem (for n points) has a vast literature. Extensive lists of references are given by: \textit{H. M. S. Coxeter} [The problem of packing a number of equal nonoverlapping circles on a sphere, Trans. New York Acad. Sc. Ser. II 24, 320-331 (1962)]; \textit{L. Fejes Toth} [Regular Figures (1964; Zbl 0134.157)]; \textit{T. W. Melnyk}, \textit{O. Knop} and \textit{W. R. Smith} [Sep. 13, Can. J. Chem. 55, No.10, 1745-1761 (1977; Zbl 0367.52012)]; \textit{T. Tarnai} and \textit{Zs. Gaspar} [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 93, 191-218 (1983; Zbl 0515.52008)].
