A regular procedure is proposed for deriving approximate equations of motion of straight thin rotating jets of a viscous incompressible fluid, and similarity parameters of such flows are established. The problem of the stability of free steady motion of a finite jet is considered in the framework of a model that takes into account in the zeroth approximation the effects of viscosity, the rotation of the jet, and capillarity.
